Common Grounds, Broussard Family Library and Learning Commons, BL 201, FVCC Kalispell Campus
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to all current FVCC Students
START DATE:
This position will start Fall Semester 2025
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:
Academic Calendar Year 2025/2026
PAY RANGE:
$14.00 to $15.00 per hour depending on experience
WORK SCHEDULE:
Works between Monday and Friday, flexible scheduling between 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., and may work up to 19 hours per week
DRESS CODE:
Casual wear with appropriate coverage
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:
Supports the Common Grounds and Supervisor
POSITION DUTIES:
Under minimum supervision:
- Greets and welcomes Common Grounds customers and offers assistance
- Takes and prepares beverage orders
- Performs cashier functions
- Cleans espresso machine and restocks supplies
- Cleans and maintains general cleanliness for coffee station work area and common area
- May perform other like duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check if hired for closing-shift
- Ability to work with a minimal level of supervision as well as in a team environment, and
- Ability to follow directions and procedures, and
- Ability to consistently provide quality customer service to students, faculty, staff and the public, and
- Ability to problem-solving, follow directions, and be self-motivated, and
- Possesses a cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, students and the public
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous cashiering experience
- Previous Barista experience

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:
- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
