Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is seeking a dependable and self-motivated Barista & Office Services Support for our Vancouver office. This fast-paced, hands-on role is ideal for someone proactive, adaptable, and comfortable multitaskingfrom preparing espresso drinks to resetting boardrooms and restocking supplies. The successful candidate works well independently, takes initiative, and keeps operations running smoothly behind the scenes. The hours for this role are 6am 3pm.
Responsibilities:
Barista
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with consistency and care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked coffee station and self-serve beverage area.
- Restock mugs, teas, and coffee proactively before peak times and employee breaks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues before escalating to vendors.
- Load and unload dishwashers; ensure cleanliness and organization of multiple office kitchenettes.
- Manage daily inventory levels and assist with ordering coffee, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
Lounge & Facility Upkeep
- Ensure employee lounges and shared spaces are clean, welcoming, and professional throughout the day.
- Set up and maintain outdoor patio furniture and outdoor spaces (weather permitting).
- Monitor, replenish, and organize kitchen supplies and utensils in employee break areas.
- Maintain a consistently tidy appearance in all shared office spaces and kitchenettes.
Meeting & Event Support
- Set up, reset, and maintain boardrooms and meeting rooms, including catering setup and cleanup.
- Coordinate catering orders with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Assist with planning and execution of after-hours or occasional weekend events (with advance notice).
- Flexibly support other Office Services functions during staff absences or peak business periods.
Reception & Administrative Support
- Provide reception coverage during scheduled breaks and absences.
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and maintain a polished and professional front-desk presence.
- Handle high-volume, multi-line switchboard calls and log inquiries accurately.
- Track office supply orders, validate and code invoices, and support expense tracking processes.
- Coordinate meeting room bookings and maintain accurate room schedules.
- Assist with visitor inquiries, client issues, courier coordination, and general administrative support.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Over 2 years of barista or cafe experience; office or hospitality setting a plus.
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to stay productive with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and occasional schedule changes.
- Friendly, professional, and polished demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in operating and troubleshooting espresso machines and cafe equipment.
- Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, including cross-contamination prevention.
- Knowledge of local food safety regulations and proper disposal of expired ingredients.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Team player willing to assist colleagues and contribute to overall service excellence.
