Job Description:

We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Baker & Prep Cook to join our dynamic back-of-house team. This role will directly report to both our Pastry Chef and our Sous Chef, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our bread program while supporting our established pastry and general kitchen prep operations. You will also play a key role in ensuring a smooth start to our mornings by assisting with light line work for our cafe food program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the expansion and development of our in-house bread program.

  • Support the production of existing pastry items and special projects.

  • Execute morning cafe food orders, involving light line cooking tasks.

  • Perform general kitchen prep duties, ensuring efficiency and quality.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen or bakery setting.

  • Preferred: Specific experience with bread baking, especially sourdough.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Food handler's certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Compensation:

  • $22 - $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Work Expectations:

  • Full-time position: 35-40 hours per week.

  • 5 days per week; specific days are flexible and to be determined.

  • Shifts will begin as early as 5:00 AM.
