We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic A based in our Chatsworth, California manufacturing plant! In this role, you will ensure operations of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing corrective and preventive maintenance requirements on various types of industrial equipment including motors, pumps, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. While performing the duties of the job the employee will stand for an extended period of time, walk, bend, stoop, occasionally lift up to 50lbs, use arms and hands at or above shoulder height, work in high areas including the roof, and operate equipment including scissor lift. Employee will work with chemicals.

The base compensation for this position is $40.00 per hour and is eligible for overtime. This is a unionized role based on site and the work schedule is as follows (subject to availability):
- Second Shift: Monday Friday (with occasional Saturday)
In this role, you will be responsible for the following :
- Ownership and adherence to all safety rules, training, and best practices at all times.
- You will Demonstrate complete technical understanding and ability to maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, electrical controls, instrumentation, pneumatic, lubrication and PLC systems and components at an advanced level.
- Ensure all paperwork and digital information is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format and completed with all required information.
- Attend, complete, and practice all required training.
- Perform predictive maintenance techniques on equipment to enhance uptime conditions.
- Teach operators on maintenance techniques when called to troubleshoot or repair equipment.
- Completes preventative maintenance and other reliability tasks, assist in diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds of machines; partner with engineering or others on non-routine repairs and defect handling solutions.
- Utilize root cause analysis thought process to ensure sustainability of corrective actions and/or improvements to drive asset reliability.
- Effectively complete PMs as scheduled to eliminate unplanned downtime.
- Proficient and diligent in use of CMMS system to track maintenance action items, create and close work orders.
- Classify breakdowns and analyze gaps in the entire process of design, fabrication, and maintenance of equipment.
- Utilize the continuous improvement mindset and tools to actively participate in identifying and correcting opportunities, improving processes including participation in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, the creation and maintenance of preventative maintenance standards, the writing of One Point Lessons, and participation in continuous improvement methodology events.
- Follow QMS, Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S methodology to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, maintaining audit ready status at all times.
- Adhere to all Pillar Standards and actively participate in Pillar activities (i.e. Quality, Food Safety, Focused Improvement, Safety, etc.) including but not limited to assessments, observations, inspections, documentation, and recommendations.
- Communicates effectively with Leads, OPEX Leaders, Production Leaders, Reliability Leader, Engineering, and other colleagues.
- Supports plant production needs and priorities to achieve plant goals.
- Facilitate, attend, and participate in team meetings and programs.
- Assist, train, and coach employees.
- Comply with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned or become evident.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of five - years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required is acceptable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures
- Computer literacy in programming and ladder logic
- Knowledge of OSHA, local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
Skills:
- Have the skills to communicate effectively in a technical manner with other Danone Associates and Danone Contacts. This may include Outside Vendors, Suppliers, Contractors, and Customers. The format may be either written in the form of a report or verbal during discussion.
- Have the skills to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations that Maintenance encounters.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Reasoning Abilities:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical data in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables to arrive at a reasonable solution.

- Forklift OSHA certification on stand-up forklift
- Aerial lift certification
