SPCA Florida is looking for a Custodian to be the primary contact for ensuring daily laundry and dishwashing tasks are completed. The responsibilities of this position include sweeping and mopping all areas, cleaning the break room, and maintaining cleanliness in various parts of the building, including entrances. To succeed in this role, you should be able to manage multiple daily tasks to ensure our operations run smoothly. Your main goal will be to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all potential adopters and clients. This role is essential in contributing to the well-being of both the animals and individuals by ensuring that the facility remains in good, clean condition. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

This is a full-time position, and the starting salary range is $15.00 per hour, based on experience and education. The schedule will include one weekend day and 5 days a week at 8 hours. - Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized environment throughout all common areas of our campus.
- Cleans and sanitizes all restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
- Cleans food bowls and water bowls.
- Scraps the litter boxes in the designated area by the laundry room, then cleans the litter boxes.
- Maintains and organizes the dish room.
- Maintains and organizes the laundry room.
- Cleans and organizes the Education Room.
- Cleans and organizes all break rooms, including cleaning of the refrigerators every payday.
- Follows instructions regarding the use of cleaning chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
- Works safely and recognizes unsafe situations. Take appropriate action to ensure his/her safety and that of others, both in buildings and on the grounds.
- Stocks and maintains the inventory of janitorial supplies.
- Responsible for completing tasks listed on the attached SOP sheet.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Dependable and able to work independently.
- Positive communication skills to interact with staff and volunteers.
- Must like animals
