Event Bartender
As an Event Bartender, you will be responsible for delivering a top-quality bespoke guest experience to each function and individual. This role will assist during meal service and bar service for events, focusing on food & beverage safety and service standards, building relationships with our guests, and finding new ways to exceed expectations and create memorable experiences.
Event Bartender Requirements
Setup indoor/outdoor bar for events, ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready for use
Maintain a clean and organized bar area before, during, and after each event, including washing and polishing all glassware
Mix, develop, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely manner and according to standard recipes as well as special guest requests
Speak knowledgably on all drink menu options for beer, wine and cocktails
Receive, stock, and rotate bar inventory
Prepare ingredients, infusions, juices, syrups and garnishes needed for bar service
Enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol and adhere to safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service policies
Greet all guests in a professional and friendly manner and learn about their beverage preferences
Continue to learn and observe specific group preferences to provide a personable beverage experience
Suggest and recommend beverages based on guests needs
Work with Food & Beverage Manager to create recipes for special beverage requests as well as upcoming menu changes
Inspect quality of bar equipment and report any damages for replacement or repair
Attend to group needs during social hours and meal events in alignment with our high standards for hospitality and service.
Maintain and participate in continual bar training, education, research and development
Provide impeccable beverage service with each interaction
Assist with food & beverage setup for buffets, plated meals, outdoor Pavilion cookouts, and family style meals
Distribute passed appetizers during events and assist with setup of appetizer stations
Memorize dietary restrictions and allergies during meal service and provide detailed information on their food and beverage options
Speak knowledgeably on all menu items and their ingredients
Work with Food & Beverage Team to ensure meal services begin on time
Monitor guest counts and inform the Food & Beverage Manager of any discrepancies
Assist with setup and restocking of all beverage and snack stations, including beverage and snack station refills and cleanups in meeting rooms at the end of the day
Perform meeting room refreshes, refilling coffee, snacks and beverages, pickup dirty glasses and trash and restock drinks during meeting breaks
Assist with bussing tables during meals, monitoring guest needs continuously and responding quickly to guest requests
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in back-of-house service areas and all meal areas (Dining Hall, Pavilion and Balcony tables, etc.)
Use safe food handling practices and proper rotation of prepared products to assure prolonged usefulness and quality
Maintain and participate in continual food training, education, research and development
Assist in ware washing duties for meals, polishing glassware and silverware and rolling silverware
Comply with all food & beverage regulations
Event Bartender Duties
Participates in daily shift meetings to prepare for service and any guest needs
Attend Lodge team meetings and trainings to stay up to date on group information, projects and policies
Assist with food & beverage deliveries and pickups when needed
Track all beverage consumption during bar service
Monitor and track inventory levels of liquor, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, coffee supplies and other supplies
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Years of Related Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in the Food & Beverage Industry as well as a minimum of 1 years experience in a bartending role.
Licenses/Certifications Must have a valid ABC certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Ability to effectively communicate with guests, team members, and managers.
Must be able to exercise appropriate judgement and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals.
Ability to learn and retain extensive bar and food knowledge and food allergen information to communicate consistently and confidently with guests.
Must be able to effectively manage time for efficient completion of shift work lists
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails
Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
Training for alcohol certification required
