Job Description

The Lead Bartender provides general leadership and work direction of department team members.

The Lead Bartender:

  • Provides general leadership and work direction of department team members, including but not limited to:
    • organizing and assigning work
    • prioritizing workload and assignments to ensure orderly and efficient completion by department employees
    • directing department employees in the successful completion of assigned
    • enforcement of department and company rules
    • instructing and training department employees in the successful performance of their duties
    • completes other leadership and work direction duties as assigned by Supervision
    • do not perform supervisory tasks such as scheduling, discipline, performance reviews, hiring or terminations; although they may provide input to supervisors regarding such matters
  • Use and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe and effective manner.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, hours of operations, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Carry out duties with attention to detail, sanitation and safety.
  • Ensure dining and serving areas are set up and maintained according to standard.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper cleaning and storage of dishware, utensils and equipment at the end of the shift.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day activities in work areas to maintain service, product quality and cashiering responsibilities.
  • Maintain control of the kitchen and inform chefs if staffing levels are not appropriate based on business volumes.
  • Assume limited charge of kitchen on respective shifts.
  • Assume limited accountability of supervisors in their absence
  • Coach and direct Team Members to work in a productive and efficient manner.
  • Be in constant communication with F&B Assistant Manager.
  • Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance.
  • Observe and adhere to Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage and cleanliness of work environment.

  • Abide by all State, State Gaming, Federal and Corporate liquor Regulations. Also pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

  • Participate in liquor glassware removal, ensuring compliance with all regulations, where applicable.

  • Take basic inventory, as needed.

  • Pass all tests given including the training in order to retain the knowledge needed to be an effective team member

  • Possess the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and possess the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.

  • Performs all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines describes in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • At least 1 year experience directly related to the accountabilities specified.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the application of sanitation procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of calculating cost of sales
  • Ability to demonstrate minimum knowledge requirements through successful completion of standardized position testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
