Summary
This position contributes to the Reserve Kitchen's success by performing a variety of baking duties Including but not limited to the preparation of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, and other pastries.
This position supervises baking partners, supports the management of inventory, training, production planning and scheduling, and ensures compliance with quality and sanitation requirements.
Partner must model and act in accordance with Starbucks principles and company policies.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise bakery staff and kitchen team members in the absence of the management team, providing on-the-job training, coaching, and support as needed.
- Assist the Production Manager with hiring and onboarding activities, as requested.
- Review daily production schedules to determine required variety and quantity of baked goods; assemble necessary supplies and equipment.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of bakery items according to established recipes, including scaling ingredients using gram/kilogram measurements and standard units.
- Ensures the team meets its' commitment to track and log production and HACCP logs
- Report defective equipment to manager to ensure timely reporting to Facilities Manager\
- Portion, shape, proof, and bake dough, monitoring product quality throughout the process and adjusting as needed.
- Receive and manage ingredients and supplies; report defective or inadequate inventory and equipment to the Chef.
- Support with weekly inventory counts and recording of daily production
- Performs other duties as assigned by their leader in support of the kitchen
We would love to hear from people with:
- 3+ years baking and pastry in a professional kitchen
- 1+ year experience supervising a team of 5+ employees in a commercial setting
- Current Health Code Certification (per State and Local DOH requirements)
- Current Servsafe Certification (preferred)
Qualifications
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry 35lbs on a consistent basis and up to 55lbs occasionally
- Ability to adhere to strict personal hygiene and standards of dress consistent with policy
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Data entry; Basic working knowledge of computers
- Basic math and English skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Competent Inventory Management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding time management skills
