We are seeking to hire a Day Porter/General Cleaner. You will be responsible for performing vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, trash removal rest room and break room cleaning and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that building and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. Ideal candidate will have professional attitude & appearance and is self-motivated, hardworking, dependable, and responsible.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to follow instructions from supervisor and complete all tasks effectively.
  • Prior cleaning experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Janitor experience a plus but will train.
  • Reliable Transportation.

I. INTERIOR AREAS OF ALL BUILDINGS

  • Sweep all flooring using approved dust down preparations; damp mop all flooring in entrance areas; hard surface floors will be dusted and mopped.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and rugs, moving light furniture other than desks, file cabinets, etc. Vacuum under and around desks. Vacuum window drapes and upholstered furniture. Carpeted corridors should be vacuumed nightly.
  • Empty, clean and dust all wastepaper baskets, trash cans, recycle bins, waste receptacles, etc. Remove wastepaper and waste materials to a designated area. Change out plastic liners nightly. Wash and sanitize waste and recycle receptacles as needed.
  • Replace Iron Mountain confidential bins as needed.
  • Dust and wipe clean all furniture, fixtures, telephones, and windowsills with treated dust cloths (business materials on desks are not to be moved.) Dust all window frames.
  • Clean all glass furniture tops, damp wipe and polish.
  • Remove all fingerprints, scuff marks, smudges, and foreign substances from all surfaces.
  • Dust all baseboards; remove stains if possible.
  • Office and utility doors on all floors to be checked for general cleanliness, removing hand marks, shoe scuff marks, liquid spills, and any other dirt/debris.
  • Clean all interior glass (including glass doors and partition glass), walls and windowsills. All other window glass cleaning (exterior and interior) classified as 'high glass areas' will be handled separately by other contractor.
  • All carpet floors will be shampooed and extracted on a regular basis.
  • Sweep and mop or vacuum all elevators. Clean and polish stainless steel, clean elevators tracks, in all elevators.
  • Dust and remove trash/debris from all door thresholds.
  • Clean and polish all drinking fountains.
  • Inspect floor areas for dirt spots on carpet. Report to floor crew to be cleaned.
  • Machine scrub tile floors in copy rooms and breakrooms as needed.
  • High speed buff all VCT floor areas weekly.
  • Strip and wax all VCT floor areas annually.

II. BREAK ROOMS AND DINING AREAS

  • Clean all break room tables and chairs as available.

  • Clean out all coffee pots and restock coffee supplies in designated break areas.

  • Clean inside and outside of microwaves in designated break areas as needed.

  • Clean inside and outside of refrigerators in designated break areas on a monthly basis.

  • Stock break room supplies as needed (paper towels, hand soap, hand sanitizer, etc.). Do not overstock supplies at any time.

  • Utensils (forks, spoons, and knives) and plates are stocked at Conner break rooms and dining areas

  • Utensils (forks, spoons, and knives) and cups are stocked at ASPEX admin break rooms and dining areas

  • Cups are stocked at the Technology Innovation Center break rooms and dining areas.

  • Replace batteries in automatic dispensers as needed

III. ENTRANCE AREAS, LOBBIES, CORRIDORS AND STAIRWELLS

  • Clean, sweep and mop all flooring as needed.
  • Wash all rubber mats and vacuum carpet.
  • Clean all glass doors, walls, windowsills.
  • Wipe down or wash metal and other high-level bright work daily. Included, but not limited to, door frames, hardware, elevator cabs, etc.
  • Wipe down all corridor and lobby walls as needed.
  • Clean and dust product display cases.
  • Keep all entrance ways free of trash/debris including external entry stairs.
  • Sweep and mop stairwells as needed.

IV. RESTROOMS, SHOWERS, AND LOCKER ROOMS

  • Sweep and mop all flooring with disinfectant in the mopping solutions.
  • Wash and polish all mirrors, powder shelves, bright work, enameled surfaces, etc. including, but not limited to flushing handles, piping and lavatory hardware.
  • Clean both sides of toilet seats, including toilet seat hinges.
  • Empty and clean paper towel and sanitary napkin disposal receptacles.
  • Clean all toilet tissue, soap, towel and sanitary napkin dispensers and disposal units.
  • Wash and disinfect all basins, bowels, and urinals. All urinal traps will be disinfected and specially cleaned as needed.
  • Clean all partitions, tile walls, enamel surfaces, dispensers, and receptacles, using proper disinfectant. Remove graffiti from wall and partitions using approved chemical.
  • Empty, clean and dust all wastepaper baskets, trash cans, recycle bins, waste receptacles, etc. Remove wastepaper and waste materials to a designated area. Change out plastic liners nightly. Wash and sanitize waste and recycle receptacles as needed.
  • Stock restroom and locker room supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, hand lotion, paper towels, female sanitary napkins, air freshener, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, mouth wash, etc.). Do not overstock supplies at any time.
  • Replace batteries in automatic dispensers as needed.
  • Lock all toilet tissue holders, paper towel and waste receptacles. Report all broken locks to Client.
  • Clean and disinfect the interior of all unoccupied locker spaces on a weekly basis.
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop all locker room floors.
  • Clean all interior locker room windows and mirrors.
  • Wash and disinfect all showers.
  • Clean shower walls and dividers.
  • Clean shower fixtures.
  • Scrub shower floors biannually.
  • Clean and disinfect all shower mats on a weekly basis.
  • Once a week flush water/cleaning solution down floor drains.
