As a Housekeeping Lead/Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting guest rooms and suites after they have been serviced by the Housekeeping team, ensuring they meet the standards of cleanliness expected at Hyatt. Individuals in this role may be requested to clean rooms as needed. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of Housekeeping experience and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, energy, and the ability to meticulously uphold cleanliness protocols.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervise housekeeping staff daily to ensure smooth operations and adherence to cleanliness standards.
- Create and manage staff schedules, including arranging coverage for absences.
- Assign housekeeping boards and linen each morning.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, common areas, stairwells, landings, laundry, and public spaces to ensure cleanliness and tidiness.
- Monitor, replenish, and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and linen; perform weekly linen inventory checks and report to on-site management.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints and special requests.
- Educate and uphold cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards among team members.
- Check Do Not Disturb (DND) rooms in the morning and throughout the day; update DND lists and monitor pick-up rooms during end-of-day procedures.
- Train new and existing staff in housekeeping procedures and cross-train as needed across department areas.
- At shift end, collect housekeeping boards, record lost and found items, and send final daily updates to Front Desk and Engineering.
- Check and respond to departmental emails throughout the day.
Key qualities for success in this position include strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with Housekeepers, Housekeeping Supervisors, and the Front Desk team. You will serve as a key liaison, ensuring smooth coordination between Housekeeping and Front Desk, including the timely release of rooms for all guest arrivals, including VIPs and owners.
