With 16,000 square feet of sophisticated meeting and event space, we create unforgettable experiences for our guests. We're seeking a polished, charismatic Seasonal Runner to join our team.

Our most successful candidates bring a minimum of 3-5 years of experience from renowned hotel restaurants, private clubs, or Michelin-recognized establishments. Your expertise should reflect an intimate understanding of fine dining service standards, wine service protocols, and the subtle art of anticipatory service that defines luxury hospitality.

This role has a tentative end date as late as October 13th, 2025 (based on operational need).

Job Summary

The Seasonal Runner is responsible for providing exceptional support to the Food & Beverage team to ensure seamless dining experiences for guests. You will assist with food delivery, maintain dining areas, and provide crucial operational support to servers and kitchen staff. The Seasonal Runner plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our restaurants and bars while upholding the luxury service standards that define Santa Monica Proper.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support seamless dining operations through efficient food and beverage delivery
  • Assist servers with table setup, maintenance, and proper place setting arrangements
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen to dining areas in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining rooms, service areas, and workstations
  • Restock service stations, linens, glassware, and dining supplies
  • Assist with bussing tables and resetting dining areas for new guests
  • Support servers during peak service periods with expediting and table maintenance
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and bartenders
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and potential allergens
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training sessions
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
  • Previous experience in restaurant or hotel food service preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CA Food Handler's Card Required
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Ability to stand and move around the restaurant for extended periods
  • Ability to carry trays, plates, and service items, with the ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, particularly during peak service hours
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping to restock supplies, bus tables, and retrieve items
  • Ability to navigate stairs and various levels of the property
