Job Summary
This position reports to the Superintendent of the Grounds and Move units. This position Is responsible for landscaping and maintenance of the grounds using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks; sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging and raking.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
Must have 3 year's experience working with and knowledge of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers
Must have experience with weed control
Must be able to operate machines and power tools
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience/training.
Experience maintaining grounds in a large commercial environment desirable
Knowledge of plant diseases desirable

Department Overview
The Plant Operations & Maintenance (PO&M) Department is a 24-hour, seven day a week operation responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of buildings, systems, and grounds at UC Davis Health that includes 148 acres and structures that total 4 million GMSF. Plant Operations & Maintenance is one of the largest operations and maintenance support providers to clinical, administrative, research, SOM and SON departments throughout the Health System. UC Davis Health is one of several UC campuses that have their own cogeneration, central power plants. Cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power or CHP) is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, both of which are used throughout the Medical Center Campus and is supported by Plant Operations & Maintenance 24x7x365
