Description of Role Responsible to perform all duties in the general housekeeping and painting of the Motherhouse, Center, and related buildings. B. Major and Minor Tasks 1. Knows and demonstrates the Franciscan Values while performing all job functions. Demonstrates values with other staff, volunteers, clients, and visitors. 2. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the position. Various tasks are required to be completed at specific times. 3. Upholds and fulfills the mission and philosophy of Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls in all areas of communications and public relations, whether written or spoken. 4. Be able to do general duties: a) Clean all floors according to procedure. b) Vacuum and clean carpets according to procedure. c) Polish floors according to procedure. d) Capable of hanging window blinds/draperies. e) Wipe walls and wash windows according to procedures. f) Houseclean areas as scheduled or needed. g) Assist in orientating new employees as requested. h) Will understand and be capable of operating all equipment used in the position. i) Clean bathrooms and lavatories according to procedure as needed. 5. Responsibilities - To do floors, carpets, polish floors, drapes, walks, and windows, housecleaning orientation, equipment, bathrooms, and lavatories. 2. Education and Training - High school diploma or equivalent required. 3. Experience - Some prior experience in housekeeping/commercial cleaning to operate equipment preferred. 4. Knowledge and Skills a. Motor coordination is necessary to operate equipment used in the department, b. Manual and finger dexterity is necessary to reach for handle, lift and carry supplies and equipment. c. Knowledge of good body mechanics. Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch to sweep floors, paint, pick up waste and litter. d. Must use supplies economically. 5. Mental applications - Show ability to work with a group of people. Be considerate of others, keepi g noise to a minimum. 6. Physical demands - Must be able to tolerate extensive standing and walking. Must be able to lift, carry, and push supplies, equipment and furniture weighing up to 50 pounds. 7. Work characteristics - Ability to do repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time. Frequently prioritizes, schedules, and completes work using independent judgment. 8. Hazards and Risks - Work outdoors, indoors, use ladders and work with household cleaning chemicals. Use safe working procedures for wearing masks and rubber gloves, safety data sheets and other safety equipment as needed.
