The Building Custodian role is important to ensure the Sachs Recreation Center sparkles for our members and staff.

Essential Functions:

• Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of all locker rooms.
• Performs towel laundering.
• Assists with the day-to-day cleaning of the facility. Performs mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, locker room maintenance, and bathroom cleaning on a daily basis.
• Cleans and maintains steam rooms, pool and whirlpool.
• Plans and schedules work in accordance with goals established in conjunction with Lead Facility Engineer.
• Recommends to the Lead Facility Engineer the purchase of equipment and supplies necessary for preventative and ongoing maintenance of the Sachs Recreation Center.
• Keeps the Lead Facility Engineer adequately informed at all times of problems related to the work and changes in plans and work completed.
• Recommends policies and procedures for the improvement of maintenance methods, to instruct, counsel and direct in maintenance activities.
• Assists management staff in the enforcement of policies and procedures for the Sachs Recreation Center.
• Represents the Deerfield Park District at all times in a professional, courteous and enthusiastic manner.
• Responds to concerns and requests from members, residents and guests with a sense of urgency and take the necessary corrective action including follow up.

Qualifications:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, coupled with strong communication skills having the ability to represent the Deerfield Park District in a professional manner.
• Employee must possess a genuine desire and ability to interact with people of all ages and temperaments

Schedule & Pay:

• Schedule: Monday through Thursday 7pm - 12am
• Pay: $18.00-20.00/hour
