Roe is a neighborhood restaurant on the corner of Unity and Flora in Bellinghams Arts District. We are a fine-causal concept serving simple, seasonal, high-quality American food inspired by the cooking and flavors of France, Italy, and Spain.
We are very busy and looking to add an experienced, motivated, and talented person to our team.
We have created a positive, team-oriented work environment where everyone pitches in, everyone is valued, and everyone is taken care of.
Scratch kitchen. Seasonal and market-driven menu. Everything we can make, we do.
Looking for an experienced cook. Full-time is 4 10-hour shifts a week. The typical schedule is 1:00 pm - 11:00 pm-ish.
Nights and weekend availability are required. We are a five-day-a-week establishment (Wednesday - Sunday). There are growth opportunities available for the right person.
$20/hr + tips. (50/50 tip pool between FOH & BOH, tip average $15-25/hr).
Duties (including but not limited to):
Daily Station prep
Daily set-up, breakdown, and cleaning
Deep cleaning projects (these are always done as a team)
Organizing and cleaning
A desire to learn and improve
A clean and organized workstation
A good, team-oriented attitude
Requirements:
Great knife skills and a willingness to learn
Familiarity with professional cooking equipment
Able to work efficiently and with a sense of urgency.
Positive attitude with the ability to work as a team.
Leave your ego at home.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Qualifications:
1 year experience minimum
The right person/personality is the most important piece of this puzzle for us. We are looking forward to meeting you! We will schedule a stage (working interview) which will last a couple of hours. We will feed you after and give you a shift drink.
