The Opportunity:
High Flying Foods is looking for a skilled Lead Barista to join our Peet's Coffee team at San Francisco International Airport. As a Shift Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the store management by ensuring daily operating procedures are followed by staff during shifts. Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations by being a hands-on presence on the floor
- Coach, develop, and motivate staff
- Receive product and invoices
- Report daily store sales, product sales, and waste figures
- Communicate with the terminal's management team as well as operations and executive teams
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed
- Perform regular barista duties
- Ensure that service standards are met by leading by example and stepping in to resolve any customer issues
- Follow, and guide others in following cash handling policies and procedures
- Handle cash drawers and nightly deposits
- Reports overages and shortages to terminal managers
- Follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines
- Contributes to store goals for driving sales and reducing costs
- Ensures staff adheres to beverage and rest break requirements
- Demonstrates and ensures all company policies and procedures are followed
- Maintain organization of all food storage areas
- Drive customer service, product quality and store presentation
- Troubleshoot repair and maintenance issues, communicate them as necessary and report back about vendor repairs
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in a customer service, cash handling or food/beverage-related position
- Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays. This is a union bid schedule position, and we cannot guarantee a specific shift will be available. Please note current open schedule is for a 4 day closing position.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff, management team, and the public.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of customer service techniques.
- Must be in good standing in your current position with a history of good attendance and cash handling
- Supervisory experience a plus
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist and kneel for duration of shift
- Possess a valid Food Handler's Card or obtain one during training upon hire as required by law
Work Conditions:
- Endures various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, bending, turning, and stooping
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, as much as the length of shift
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry materials and products up to 25 lbs or more
- Repetitive hand motion for extended periods
