Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Administrative Sergeant and overall direction by Area Management, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the general grounds and appearance of the facility and parking areas, including the trimming of shrubs and plants, removing debris, and cleaning sidewalks/walkways; irrigating and cultivating as necessary to maintain office landscaping/plants; replacing inoperative indoor/outdoor light bulbs; cleaning ceilings, window shades, interior/exterior windows when necessary; emptying trash receptacles daily; sweeping, scrubbing, moping, waxing floors, and vacuuming rugs/carpets; cleaning/dusting light fixtures when necessary; cleaning walls of marks, dirt, and foreign objects; dusting/polishing cabinets, furniture, woodwork, and metalwork regularly; cleaning/sanitizing restroom and locker rooms; restocking restroom and kitchen supplies; refilling soap dispensers; ordering janitorial supplies and equipment from supply services and other vendor catalogs; stocking incoming parts/supplies; assisting in moving and arranging furniture, and equipment as required; assisting the Automotive Technician II with vehicle maintenance and disposal of junk tires; and other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.
