Full-Time: Weekdays Monday through Fridays 7:00am to 3:30pm OR 7:30am to 4:00pm

Who You Are:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude to act as a Janitor for our Skilled Nursing facility. Working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Environmental Services Manager, the Janitor is responsible for floor care projects, public area cleaning and trash disposal as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Maintains floors and carpets within the Village.

Picks up and removes trash from trash rooms, offices and other locations within the Village.

Cleans all public areas.

Checks in/receives Housekeeping deliveries.

Performs all event set-ups.

Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.

Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.

Provides input and feedback to Environmental Services Supervisor on a weekly basis regarding status of projects, areas needing attention, etc.

Maintains housekeeping storeroom in a clean and orderly condition.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent preferred but not required.

Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guest, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.

Fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service, personal hygiene and appearance.

Ability to read, write, and speak English, perform simple arithmetic, and follow written or oral instructions in English.

Attention to cleanliness and safety.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail.

Work collaboratively in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Frequently required to carry or lift items weighing up to 30 pounds for short distances.

Occasionally required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Required to obtain the assistance of another qualified employee when attempting to lift objects over 30 pounds.

Considerable physical effort, including lifting, bending, and reaching.

Tolerate standing and walking for up to 8 hours at a time on hard and soft surfaces.

Frequently performs activities that require stooping, bending and reaching, squatting, kneeling, balancing, pushing and trunk twisting throughout the day.

Requires constant hand grasp and finger dexterity.

Constantly able to communicate verbally and in written form.

Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indicate environmental issues.
