About the Role
The Inn at Langley is entering a new chapter. The property recently changed hands and unfortunately our Executive Chef will be moving on. As new owners, we remitted to preserving what has made this place special: its connection to the land, themunity, and the elevated culinary experience guests havee to love.
We're looking for a thoughtful, experienced Executive Chef to take ownership of the kitchen, lead culinary direction, and support the broader hospitality standards upheld by the Inn s front and back-of-house leadership. This role is ideal for someone who wants to manage a talented team, shape a refined food program, and collaborate on the next phase of the Inn's growth.
W We're Headed
Our goal is to continue the tradition of profitable fine-dining prix-fixe dinners Friday through Sunday, with a few thoughtful potential updates such as adjusting the number of courses, potentially reintroducing various proteins, and/or evolving presentation and pacing. T is also the exciting possibility of expanding the breakfast program and potentially introducing new services and offerings in the future to meet demand.
All initiatives are in the early planning stages and would remain rooted in quality and hospitality. The Executive Chef will play an active role in shaping these offerings from a culinary standpoint, in coordination with the FOH Manager and ownership team.
What You ll Be Doing
Kitchen & Team Leadership
Lead the back-of-house team with a hands-on, proactive approach
Set kitchen schedules (including early breakfast shifts) based on occupancy and staffing
Train kitchen staff and uphold high standards in culinary execution, conduct, and professionalism
Manage hiring, interviewing and onboarding of new employees in collaboration with FOH Manager
Aid in management of Large Groups business, working in tandem with Group Business Lead and FOH to ensure high standard of execution
Provide menu context and culinary input to support wine pairings and bar offerings, when requested
Ensure FOH Manager staff is informed about menu elements that intersect with beverage service and collaborate on intersection of items
Menu & Culinary Direction
Build rotating, seasonal prix-fixe menus using local and regional ingredients
Reimagine the current format as needed, with a focus on guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
Develop midweek menus with a casual, munity-driven feel (as needed)
Conduct pre-service meetings and tastings with the kitchen team
Operations & Revenue
manage kitchen pacing and flow to maximize covers withoutpromising guest experience
Set revenue goals and implement strategies to meet them through thoughtful menu design and execution
Vendor & Cost Management
Maintain strong relationships with purveyors; manage ordering, pricing, and availability
Minimize waste and control inventory in a small kitchen foot
Design menus with profitability and quality in mind
Compliance, Training & Standards
Lead safety and food handling training; ensure all FOH/BOH are up to date on food handlers cards, safety guidelines with kitchen equipment, and building/health codes
Maintain audit-ready standards at all times
Foster a team culture of professionalism and continuous improvement
Marketing, Events & Community Presence
Contribute culinary expertise to seasonal dinners, special experiences, andmunity events
Represent the Inn at Langley at culinary events and food festivals
Work in partnership with ownership and FOH manager to execute cohesive guest-facing programming
What We re Looking For
Experience leading back-of-house teams in high-quality restaurant or hotel kitchens
Strong understanding of food cost, labor models, and operational efficiency
A clearmunicator and mentor who builds systems and develops people
Creative yet grounded in hospitality and consistency
Calm under pressure and collaborative in approach
Compensation
