Overview
The Barback at The Woodlands Resort assists Bartenders in the serving of guests to ensure positive guest experience.
Responsibilities- Retrieves orders from storeroom. Visually checks stock received against written requisition with storeroom personnel, to ensure order is accurate. Upon delivery to the bar, re-checks items with bartender for completeness.
- Cuts, slices and peels perishable garnishes and fruits, mixes and pours juices in sufficient amounts according to projected business. Stores back-up supplies needing refrigeration in prescribed containers for later use.
- Checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies, i.e., stir sticks, napkins, matches, etc., for both the immediate bar and extended service area.
- Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, and refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code standards.
- Scoops ice from ice bins, transports to service areas and replenishes ice containers for usage.
- Boxes and saves empty liquor bottles as they accumulate for later returns and requisitions.
- Transports taps, replaces and performs routine maintenance requirements on heavy beer kegs. Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Utilizes protective equipment.
- Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor/manager.
- Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor/manager.
- Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).
- Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
- Assists other department personnel when needed.
- Experience. Two years previous experience providing customer service preferably in a similar setting with a working knowledge of Spirits, Wine, Beer and Food service.
- Flexible. Must be able to work varied shifts, including Weekday Evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Friendly. Must be able to deliver a fun and friendly environment during each guest exchange.
- Energetic. Must be able to work within an empowered and fast paced environment that services the bar and servers within the restaurant.
- Knowledge. County Specific Food Handlers Certification, State specific alcohol certification and/or TIPs certification required
- A qualified applicant is a people person who is flexible with their schedule, loves to serve others, and knows how to multi-task while ensuring accuracy.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- This is a seasonal postion - March through September
