THE JOB:

As a Sommelier, you will be the ambassador of fine wines, sharing your extensive knowledge and passion for wine and food pairings to elevate our guests' dining experiences! THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Creates and ensures a fresh, positive and exciting environment where sanitation, flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount

  • Builds rapport, commitment, and loyalty with team members and customers

  • Responsible for all wine handling, storage, receiving, requisitioning, and inventory control

  • Presents the wine list with appropriate recommendations and commentary, serves wines at correct temperatures and in the proper way

  • Specializes in beverage and wine sales and service

  • Inspects and ensures that all facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition and meet all regulatory requirements in wine storage and cellar areas

  • Conducts training and wine education of team members as required both within the assigned outlet and as part of the overall wine team for Borgata.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures

  • Eliminates or adds items to wine list as deemed appropriate to maintain high quality standards

  • Responsible for cost control, proper accounting, and inventory procedures

  • Inspects wine storage and cellar facilities to ensure that equipment and workstations meet requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations

  • Inspects and tastes beverage samples to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

  • 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience

VIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:

Pay Rate:

The rate for this role is:

$16.41This is a tip eligible position.

Should overtime be worked, employees are paid overtime pay in accordance with state requirements.
