Status: UFCW Laborers Union, Non-Exempt; Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)

Salary: Grade 8L, Step 05 - \$21.31/Hour + Licenses Schedule: Mon-Fri

7:00AM - 3:30PM Certifications/Licenses Required: MA Class B CDL

License, MA Water Distribution Grade 2 License SUMMARY The City of

Chicopee\'s Department of Public Works - Water Division is hiring a

Water System Maintenance Worker who will be assigned to Hydrant

Maintenance with the primary responsibility of maintaining the

city-owned fire hydrants including but not limited to repairs and

rebuilds, flushing, replacement of worn meters, and overall assistance

with water system maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: Maintain

City-owned fire hydrants and hydrants records. Lubricates hydrants,

inspects hydrant rods, thrust plates and nozzles on a regular basis.

Flushes city owned fire hydrants. Assists with installation of water

services. Must be available to assist with snow removal operations,

during normal working hours but also for evenings, weekends, holidays.

Other duties as assigned per the full job description. QUALIFICATIONS

Massachusetts Class B CDL License - Required Massachusetts Water

Distribution Grade 2 License - Required Massachusetts Class A CDL

License - Preferred Two (2) years of experience in hydrant maintenance
