Position Summary: Ideal candidates will have a focus that highlights their dedication to superior customer service . The Laundry Aide will launder resident clothing, towels, and bed linens and operate commercial washers and dryers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Operate residential and commercial washers/dryers on a daily basis.
  • Wash, dry, fold or hang resident clothing according to policies.
  • Ensure clothing, towels, and bed linens are appropriately cleaned and returned to residents.
  • Document all laundry services provided so residents are appropriately charged for laundry completed.
  • Although primary responsibilities will be for laundry services, assistance in other areas may be requested, such as:
    1. Assist with resident daily bed making, as needed.
    2. Assist with cleaning resident apartments and common areas, as needed.
    3. Ensure a safe living environment for residents.
    • Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
    • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Housekeeping (Public Areas)

    • Clean common areas as scheduled.
    • Clean occasional stains/spots, as needed.
    • Clean public restrooms daily.
    • Wash windows in public areas quarterly or more often, as needed.
    • Ensure a safe living environment for residents.
    • Report concerns or observation about residents to supervisor.
    • Report needed supplies and/or equipment repairs to supervisor.
    • Respond to requests from residents and staff promptly and efficiently.
    • Empty trash containers on a regularly scheduled basis and as needed.
    • Assist in serving meals and/or bussing tables, as needed.
    • Attend staff and in-service meetings.
    • Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
    • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.

    Education, Experience and Other Requirements

    • Must be age 16 or older

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

    • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
    • Familiar with general cleaning procedures
    • Lifting arms above head to reach and clean shelves, ledges, and windows

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Willingness to learn and help others
    • Enjoyment in working with older adults
    Full-time, Monday- Friday from 8am- 4:30pm.
