The Senior Server Repair Technician is responsible for system requirements analysis and the preparation of technical specifications documentation for support of systems software and hardware within our test and production environments. They will also assemble and test backend server equipment for subsequent installation in casinos for Class II gaming applications. Assists Production leadership with the coordination of the server build area and activities related to disassembly, data clearing, assembly, test, and repair of servers and related products.
This has been designated as a safety-sensitive job because it involves performing one or more tasks/duties that could reasonably affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task(s) or others.
Build, set up, and configure various server platforms and Ethernet devices, following detailed manufacturing work instructions and complying with gaming regulations and other defined requirements, internal and external to VGT
Install drivers and software onto 10/100/1000MB wired Ethernet controllers, data storage devices, network interface cards, and other network devices to prepare server equipment for subsequent functional testing.
Perform prescribed test procedures on server equipment, including trying to replicate customer-reported issues on returned servers, and then troubleshooting and correcting the root causes of the issues.
Identify significant and/or recurring technical and/or quality problems with server equipment, as well as server build processes and systems, and report to Production leadership. Assist with the development and implementation of solutions to address issues.
Coordinate and manage efforts to develop and implement solutions to address technical and/or quality issues within the equipment.
Complete administrative functions related to business and regulatory requirements, accurately documenting work performed and submitting timely reports.
Provide advanced troubleshooting support to assigned work areas
Communicate and collaborate with various departments, including Field and Network Engineering, Inventory, Compliance, and Logistics, to understand server build requirements and get server equipment processed
Provide technical subject matter expertise and hands-on/on-the-job training/coaching to peers, as needed
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by leadership

What We're Looking For
A Vocational degree or equivalent work experience in electronics, computer assembly/repair, or another technical field is required. An associate's degree in an electronics-related field is preferred.
3 - 5 years of electro-mechanical assembly & test experience is preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Previous team or project leadership experience is desired.
Skills
Moderate understanding of PC system architecture, including both client and server platforms
Windows 7+ and Windows 2008 Server+, Linux (SLES and/or RHEL), Microsoft HyperV and VMWare ESX Operating System experience, including all aspects of setup, configuration, and network troubleshooting
Proven technical troubleshooting and problem-solving experience with a passion for learning technologies; 1-3 years of applicable experience.
Experience with DOS, uEFI, and Embedded Operating Systems
Proven experience building and configuring 1 Gigabit LAN environments
Experience managing and configuring Layer 2 and 3 Ethernet Devices
Environmental Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to lift, move, and control up to 500 pounds with the aid of dollies or machine carts. The employee must be able to lift and move 40 pounds short distances with/without mechanical aid and frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds.
