Benefits Eligible? Yes Job Summary/Basic Function

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clean and sanitary dinnerware for use by Dining Service customers as well as clean and sanitary food preparation equipment.

1. Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.

2. Ensure that dishes, silverware, pans and other foodservice equipment are returned to the serving line or storage areas as soon as possible

3. Maintain supplies such as soap, rinse agent, etc and make sure the supplies are readily available

4. Make sure that instructions are followed on how to run the dishwasher and other equipment correctly and follow all safety practices

5. Ensure a safe and clean dish room, adhering to standards of sanitation and safety as established by local, state, and federal health officials

6. Work with the Student Managers to make sure that all student, on-call and temporary employees are on duty and have clear direction -

7. Report any breakdowns to the Residential Dining Manager or Manager on Duty

8. Work with student employees, co-workers, and management in service to our customers and assist with student employee recruitment and retention

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Take and pass ServSafe food safety course or pass internal food safety exam within first year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Three to six months of related experience

Ability to read and comprehend written communication.

Basic custodial skills: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing.

Able to read and follow instructions for operation of dish room equipment.

Able to monitor gauges for proper temperatures and chemical levels to ensure clean and sanitary equipment.

Able to engage with our customers with an attitude of willingness and dedication to serve.

Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Salary - $15.00 - $16.88 per hour

The final salary will be determined based on factors such as education, experience, skills, certifications, and alignment with the position's requirements. Other considerations may include internal equity and market conditions.
