Maintenance Engineers contribute to the hotel's commitment to high quality guest service and teamwork and must be the kind of person who appreciates high standards of excellence.
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Mid-Level General Maintenance Engineer to support the daily upkeep and functionality of our hotel facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation of technical skills and a proactive attitude to maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for our guests and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including basic inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs across hotel facilities and equipment.

- Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify potential maintenance needs and report issues to the Engineering leadership team.
- Respond to guest maintenance requests with a focus on efficiency, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers and departments to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and organized manner.
- Assist in troubleshooting and performing basic repairs to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems under guidance when necessary.
- Support preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and reduce downtime.
- Work with contractors or senior engineers on more complex repairs or renovation projects.
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, repairs, and inventory usage.
- Adhere to safety standards and ensure compliance with hotel and regulatory maintenance procedures.
- Contribute to occasional special projects, renovations, or room refresh initiatives as assigned.
SHIFT: 11pm to 7am
WAGE: The wage for this position is $33.36. *Hours worked after 7:53 pm will qualify for a $1 differential. This is the pay Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

- 2 to 3 years experience as a General Maintenance Engineer or similar role in the hospitality industry.
- kitchen equipment knowledge/experience
- Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant degree is a plus.
