Summary The Dishwasher is responsible for the maintenance of dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment and utensils in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. The focus of the Dishwasher includes general dishwasher and cleaning responsibilities to ensure the complete cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and work areas.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Scrapes/rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Washes pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation. Let dry completely before storing or reusing.
- Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with all outlined safety procedures, up to and including use of cut gloves when handling and cleaning knives.
- Maintain and track temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards. Let supervisor know in a timely manner if levels are off.
- Clean and maintain dish area in an orderly manner to include mats, clear walkway and in compliance with all other safety standards.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks and all other food prep surface as assigned.
- Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards.
- May assist with loading or unloading supplies and product.
- Perform other functions and duties as assigned.

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.
Responsibilities in Quality Improvement
Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
Essential Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Communication and customer service skills, good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to follow written and oral directions
- Ability to use standard measures required
