Location: Edinburg, VA Schedule: 1ST SHIFT MON-FRI 7:00 Am-3:30pm Pay: $25-$30 Based on experience Position Summary: The Boiler Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting boilers, steam systems, and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, preventive maintenance schedules, and operational procedures to support production needs. This position you will be helping out maintenance when the plant is needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Electrical background preferred
  • Boiler Experience is preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Protein Conversion experience preferred but not required
  • General knowledge of maintenance procedures with a minimum of 2 years experience Mechanical and welding experience preferred
Description:
  • Monitor pressure gauges, flow meters, thermometers and other measurement devices or equipment. Perform water sampling and treatment.
  • Adjust control to maintain specified settings such as temperature, steam pressure, air pressure, water pressure, etc.
  • Operate valves in order to control heat, steam, water, chemical flow and other mixes.
  • Install, maintain and repair electro-pneumatic valves and direct control devices related to boiler systems.
  • Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with specifications, as well as detect and locate malfunctions.
  • Check fluid levels on gearboxes, lubricate bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following stablished checklist.
  • Read complex blueprints, piping, sketches and schematics.
  • Recognize, diagnose and solve mechanical failures, determine corrective actions needed, check blueprints, manuals and parts catalog.
  • Perform timely repair and routine maintenance.
  • Preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Deal with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs.
  • Experience using power tools, saws, drills, impacts, grinder, etc.
  • Should be able to work on high heat and cold environments, heights, confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Perform pipe repairs.
  • Welding and fabrication skills preferred.
  • Willing to help out maintenance team in the plant when needed
  • Able to Work as part of a team

K nowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment, preferred.
Working knowledge of electricity, preferred.
Basic knowledge of standard and metric measures, preferred.
Ability to read and understand schematics, preferred.
Ability to arc and gas weld (overhead and bench), preferred.
Prior maintenance experience is a plus.
