We are looking for excited, motivated, and experienced Cooks to help us to continue to serve our all-day-cafe concept into the local neighborhood. The ideal team member loves working in a fun, fast paced, team environment, thrives in a kitchen atmosphere, and is motivated by success, as well as team and individual growth.
Our kitchen team is small but very effective, with only 2-3 BOH staff working during the shift (depending on the day of the week). Therefore, you MUST be able to multi-task and partake with ALL AREAS of the kitchen including line-cooking, prep-cooking & dishwashing.
Our current hours are from 7am - 4pm everyday. Availability to work between the hours of 6:30am to 4:30pm daily is essential, and you must be available on weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Cooking the entire menu to order, strong focus on presentation
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients, intaking deliveries
- Ensure kitchen is properly cleaned and packed down at end of shift, occasional dishwashing required
- Prepping ingredients, and adhering to prep lists, stocktaking ingredients to be ordered
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields
- Passion for food and cooking techniques
- Strong team-working qualities, and ability to colaborate with colleagues
- Ability to take responsibility of the needs of the restaurant when working alone
- Must be able to take direction from management
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, sense of urgency
- NYC Food Handlers card, or working towards, is a plus
Job Type: Full-time OR Part-time
Pay: $19.00 22.00 per hour (depending on experience / skill level)
Expected hours: 30 40 per week
