Washington Alpine Resort is on the lookout for a spirited and detail-loving Banquet Captain to lead the charge at our weddings, retreats, and legendary après-style corporate events. From dreamy summer “I dos” to winter wonderland celebrations, you'll help turn special occasions into mountain magic.
As our Banquet Captain, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our Wedding & Catering Coordinator to ensure every event runs smoothly - from the first champagne pour to the final dance. You’ll lead our banquet team with professionalism, a cool head, and a warm heart- bringing top-tier service, great vibes, and unforgettable guest experiences to every table. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and support the setup, execution, and teardown of weddings, banquets, and other special events
- Review banquet event orders (BEOs) and floor plans in advance to ensure accurate setup, staffing, and timelines
- Assist the Wedding & Catering Coordinator with administrative tasks as needed, including inventory, ordering, creating work orders, and invoicing.
- Lead by example with exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and a calm, solution-focused approach
- Assign tasks, manage timelines, and support banquet servers and bartenders during events
- Ensure event spaces are clean, well-presented, and aligned with the event plan
- Communicate with kitchen and service teams regarding special instructions, dietary needs, and timing.
- Assist in training new banquet staff as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a banquet captain, supervisory, or lead service role (weddings and events experience preferred)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to stay composed and resourceful in high-pressure situations
- Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Serving It Right certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
