Job Summary

Summary
This schedule is 6:30am - 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. The majority of the Grill Cook responsibilities involve customer service and cooking short-order items. The Grill Cook performs a wide variety of duties relative to the handling, preparation, presentation and service of food. The Grill Cook fulfills customers' orders within regulatory, HACCP and CARES guidelines, maintains cleanliness of cafeteria servery, and restocks grill area supplies.

Essential Functions
-Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes, etc as assigned.

-Anticipates and meets customer needs; takes appropriate steps to rectify issues.

-Stocks and replenishes grill items as needed according to dept. standards.

-Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment including cooking, hot-holding, refrigeration/freezer equipment, and utility carts.

-Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude.

-Prepares and serves daily menu cycle items for grill and deli station.

-Cleans and stocks area after each meal.

-Adheres to all HACCP and regulatory standards.

-Alerts supervisor to any concerns, discrepancies, product shortages, etc.

-Actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve retail satisfaction.

-Demonstrates a cost conscious attitude towards product and time utilization.

-Willingly adjusts schedule and/or job position to accommodate departments needs.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Prior food handling and/or grill cook experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards.
- Must be able to read menu items in English.
- Must be able to communicate in English with customers.
- Must have basic knife skills and be able top operate food service equipment including grill, fryer, slicer, and steam tables.
- Independent judgment required.
- Must be able to follow lengthy, detailed instructions.
- Must be able to read, comprehend and follow recipes.
- Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to pleasantly handle large volumes of customer in peak hours.
