Your Impact
Join Thomas Cuisine as a Food Service Cashier in a cafeteria setting. Your role will be instrumental in shaping a sophisticated and memorable experience to patients and their families, leaving a lasting impact.
What you will do:
- Assist students, customers and guests with orders, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.
- Be the smiling face that ensures every interaction is a personalized, delightful encounter.
Manning cash register and assisting customers in the café during busy breakfast and lunchtimes
Perform basic math functions to collect payments
Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals
Memorize product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions
Handle exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner
Maintain accurate cash drawer
Take a tally of the funds in the cash register when required during a shift and produce transaction reports
- Help with light food preparation and restock of the Grab and Go area or the register area.
- Light table cleaning after guests.
Keep the checkout area clean and orderly
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will need
- Be 18 years or older.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with one-on-one customer service interaction.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Possess a friendly, outgoing demeanor, work well with customers and associates.
- Follow guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety.
- Food Handler's Certificate required.
- ServeSafe Certification required (internal training offered)
- Drug screen and background check required.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift - up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to stand for the whole shift
- Be able to stay on your own in the Front Of The House area.
- Experience cashier in college campus, healthcare, fast-food, restaurant, hospitality or another culinary environment or venue is preferred but not required.

Physical and Sensory Requirements
Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting boxes, up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
