We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Prep Cook/ Dishwasher to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals by prepping ingredients, maintaining a clean workspace, and following recipes with attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:
Ingredient Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for cooking, ensuring freshness and adherence to portion sizes.
- Cooking Assistance: Assist cooks and chefs in the preparation and cooking of menu items, including soups, sauces, and salads, while following established recipes.
- Station Maintenance: Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients and tools; maintain a neat and sanitary kitchen environment according to health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate with the kitchen manager regarding stock levels; assist with ordering supplies and restocking as needed.
- Equipment Care: Properly handle and care for kitchen equipment and utensils; report any maintenance or repair needs to the kitchen manager.
- Kitchen Collaboration: Work alongside other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and a positive work environment, assisting with other tasks as needed.
**Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a prep cook / dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately; attention to detail is critical.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 40lbs).
