Job Details We are looking for a part-time server!

Tucked away within Santa Monicas historic Bergamot Station, Birdie Gs is helmed by award-winning chef Jeremy Fox (also the chef/owner at Rustic Canyon and Tallulas) and Chef de Cuisine Alex Barkley As a member of the Rustic Canyon Family, a collection of celebrated, neighborhood dining destinations, Birdie Gs offers a comforting, seasonal menu pulls influences from various regions across the United States and Eastern Europe. Everything from the food to the cocktails to the wine list has a story and pays homage to loved ones (friends, family, farmers!) who inspire the team. We make nearly everything in house, and always with great, local ingredients.

Server Duties:

As a Server, your job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced knowledge in Birdie G's menu, cocktails and spirits.
  • To redirect/follow directions set by any/all management.
  • Being able to comfortably describe and recommend menu, wine and beverages to your tables.
  • Knowing what allergies pertain to each dish.
  • Performing all opening and closing duties
  • Accurate cash handling, tip reporting and credit card transactions.
  • Understand break procedures and adhere to them.
  • steps of service.
  • Advanced organization skills.
  • Proper tableside etiquette that is knowledgeable, unobtrusive, quiet, generous, accurate and kind.
  • Proper kitchen etiquette. (Behind, corner, yes/no chef.)
  • Attend meetings as scheduled.
  • Stay current with all menus, wine lists, cocktails, checklists.
  • Attend daily pre-shifts.
  • Fully dressed and ready to work at scheduled time.
  • Take direction from management and perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor.
  • Assists others to ensure a positive experience for all guests
  • To contribute to a strong team effort, and an enjoyable work environment.
Requirements:
  • Open availability - shifts begin at 3:00pm and 3:30pm. We are specifically looking for people with Monday, Thursday, some Fridays, some Saturdays and Sunday availability.
  • 1 year of serving in a fine dining restaurant or 3 years casual fine dining serving experience. Chef driven is a plus
  • Food handlers certification
  • RBS Certification
  • Experience with natural wines, specialty cocktails, and artisanal spirits is preferred, but not
  • required.

Physical Demands

  • Requires moderate physical effort. Standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing, lifting of weight up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions involve shouting, noise, heat, temperature changes, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, etc. May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and staffing. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Clean non-slip shoes
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($17.81) plus tips

Estimated Weekly Tips: $525
