Maintenance Engineer**
**Job Description**
The Facilities Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of hospital equipment and building components. This position requires compliance with OSHA standards and a commitment to responding swiftly to emergency situations to safeguard the well-being of employees, patients, and the facility itself. The role involves preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, diagnosing mechanical issues, and implementing solutions with minimal supervision. **Responsibilities**
+ Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hospital equipment and building components.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and implement effective solutions.
+ Ensure safety, care, and comfort for staff and patients.
+ Respond to emergency situations in accordance with OSHA standards.
+ Work independently with minimal supervision.
**Essential Skills**
+ GED or High School Diploma.
+ Basic computer skills (Office or Word).
+ 3.5+ years of experience in Maintenance Technician or construction field.
+ 1.5+ years of maintenance experience with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, gauges, and electrical testing devices.
+ Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in hospital or large-scale hotel/building maintenance.
+ Knowledge of Austin city amendments to the code.
+ Degree from a Trade School.
+ Veterans from Navy/Army.
**Work Environment**
This is a 24/7 facility requiring flexibility to work shifts from 8 AM to 4 PM or 12 AM to 9 PM, with the schedule provided in advance. The role may involve working overtime up to 6-7 days a week if the facility is short-staffed. The maintenance team consists of a 4-person crew responsible for running the facility.
