Salary: $24.75/Hour Minimum Per Teamsters Contract

Report Times: 6:30am - 3:00pm (Monday - Friday)
Daily Hours: 8.5 (8 Paid)
Work Year: 12 Months
Supervisor: Director of Facilities
Civil Service Title: Maintenance Mechanic I
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus three (3) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as a skilled worker in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical or construction trades.
NOTE: Additional experience may be substituted for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: If you are appointed, you will be required to have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Desired Qualifications:
Construction Trades Skills;
Computer and Program Application Knowledge;
Knowledge of Maintenance Contracting, writing specifications and the ability to understand and utilize NYS and County contracts;
Knowledge of Maintenance Contracting, writing specifications and the ability to understand and utilize NYS and County contracts;
Ability to establish good working relationships with administration and staff;
Working knowledge of Specific Hazards, Safety Precautions, Training Requirements.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Perform skilled work in one or more of the construction trades; masonry, carpentry, painting, or locksmith;
Installs, maintains, repairs and rebuilds paneling, bulletin boards, shelves, ceiling & floor tiles,
insulation, gutter systems and weather stripping;
Mixes and lays cement and concrete for walks, steps, floors and foundations. Plasters walls,
ceilings, cuts stone, lays brick and blocks. Performs a variety of masonry activities;
Makes, assembles, installs, maintains, repairs and rebuilds doors, windows, stairs, walls, floors, desks, chairs, cabinets, tables and other wood products, equipment and structures;
Prepares paints and refinishes wood, metal and other surfaces;
Repairs and maintenance on several types of roofs;
Other Duties as Assigned
Daily attendance is expected.
