POSITION SUMMARY:
Bagatelle is an experience. It's a place to enjoy brunch, lunch or dinner and feel like you were invited into the home and table of an epicurean bon vivant from the French Riviera. It's a place to celebrate the South of Frances festive spirit, generous cuisine and friendly atmosphere. The Host is an extremely important role as it is often the first face guests see. It is therefore imperative that a Host with Bagatelle is polished, smiles, is well spoken, positive, and polite in order to make a truly welcoming first impression.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet guests at the door with eye contact, a smile, and a warm genuine welcome
Strategically seat guests in a manner which balances the restaurant and rotates server stations
Present menus if a server is not immediately present
Consistently treat guests in a respectful manner, ensuring complete satisfaction and exceeding expectations
Guests intake and quote wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
Observes tables and keeps track of availability
Is proactive and uses table status (Dessert, check presented, etc.) to predict table availability
Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area
Answers phone and politely answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant
Interacts with guests to ensure positive dining experience
Processes the booking, cancellation, and modification of reservations
Directs calls to the appropriate department as necessary
Collects information for private and large party bookings
Facilitates the procurement of necessary contracts
Confirms all bookings 24 hours prior to reservation date
Send follow up Thank You emails
Comprehension of restaurant layouts, capabilities, menus, atmosphere, event calendars, key staff members, history, and any and all other information relevant to guest relations
Strictly follow all company rules, regulations, and policies
Maintain a positive, pleasant, and helpful demeanor at all times
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS/PRIMARY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to be proactive and anticipate the needs of the next day
1+ years experience in a Host/Hostess titled role at a fine dining establishment
Ability to read, write and speak English is needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job, multilingual a plus
Clear and pleasant voice with knowledge of proper phone etiquette
Excellent time management
An approachable attitude
Highly organized
High school diploma or equivalent is required

While performing the duties of this job, the individual in this role is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk.
The employee is occasionally required to balance and stoop, kneel, crouch and twist
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
Working conditions can at times involve hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment and the operation of office equipment
