REPORTS TO: Head of Maintenance

STARTING WAGE : $16.50 per hour; any raises begin September 1

HOURS OF WORK: Full Time: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with 1 hour off for lunch, unless otherwise arranged with Superintendent; some evening events

VACATION LEAVE: After 1 year: 40 hours; After 2 years: 80 hours

SICK LEAVE: 40 hours per school year, can accumulate up to 120 hours (no pay for unused)

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: 40 hours per school year

PERSONAL LEAVE: 8 hours per school year

PAID HOLIDAYS: 6 days per school year (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)

MEDICAL INSURANCE: The District pays for full family health insurance, and employee dental insurance. The employee may purchase family dental insurance.

RETIREMENT: 8.08% of wages are deducted from paychecks for deposit in a retirement account. The District matches that amount at 8.08%. The State also makes a 2% contribution.

OTHER: AFLAC Insurance is available for life, health, dental, vision, and disability. A 403b retirement plan is available.

DUTIES:

(1) Assure that all areas of buildings are safe and free of hazards and debris.

(2) Improve appearance of building by immediately removing marks on walls and floors, dirt and paper from floors, and dust from furniture or other flat surfaces.

(3) Open/close the building at specified times. This includes unlocking/locking doors, turning on/off lights, setting up chairs, checking temperature in rooms and operation of all utilities.

(4) Maintain paper products and soap supplies in restrooms.

(5) Dispose of trash.

(6) Dust classrooms and offices.

(7) Scour lavatory fixtures, locker rooms, and drinking fountains.

(8) Sweep, mop, wax, buff, vacuum, and shampoo floors.

(9) Wash windows and polish door hardware.

(10) Wash woodwork and walls as needed.

(11) Change light bulbs and wash light fixtures as needed.

(12) Set up, take down, and clean lunch areas.

(13) Clean up body fluids as student emergencies arise.

(14) Wash student desks as needed.

(15) Clean and paint walls as needed.

(16) Make minor building/locker/equipment repairs.

(147 Use leaf blower to clean bleachers after sporting events.

(18) May strip and seal gym floor.

(19) Remove snow as needed.

(20) Maintain grounds.

(21) Sound alarms for fire drills as directed by Principal.

(22) Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
