Custodian

Under the direction of the Supervisor Custodian, the Custodian will work in a team environment to accomplish daily and weekly duties with the goal of maintaining the general appearance and cleanliness of the facility. A successful candidate will possess the ability and willingness to travel between various sites of the enterprise as required, knowing the assigned location may change on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The individual selected for this role is expected to assist in championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that reflects and upholds the Tribal Communitys vision, mission and values. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Cleans and sanitizes a wide range of facilities including restrooms, hallways, gyms, parks, and locker rooms using best practices and safety protocols.
2. Maintains floors, carpets, furniture, windows, and surfaces through sweeping, mopping, waxing, shampooing, dusting, and polishing.
3. Prepares and breaks down equipment and decor for special events.
4. Handles daily waste removal and disposal, including ashtrays and trash receptacles.
5. Monitors facilities and reports maintenance needs to supervisors.
6. Disposes of materials potentially contaminated with bloodborne pathogens, including spills involving blood or other bodily fluids, and sharps containers containing used needles and related items.
7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the ecient operation of the department.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

• Minimum three (3) months related experience and/or training required.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (Ksa)

• Ability to read, convey and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and produce manuals.

• Ability to speak effectively in English before groups, customers and employees of organization.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, including the ability to compute ratios and percentages.

• Must be able to demonstrate good judgment skills in all areas within their scope of responsibility.

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

• This position may require one to work and travel between various locations throughout the enterprise.

Licenses, Certifications And Registrations

• At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

• Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

• Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.

• Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

• Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

• Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

• Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

• Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

• Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings,

• via videoconference and over the telephone.

• Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.

• Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

• Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

• The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
