JOB DESCRIPTION: The Jacks Monterey Greeters are responsible for setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience by making every guest feel welcome and demonstrating genuine hospitality towards everyone who walks in the door. They are responsible for seating guests, managing a wait list during high volume, and engaging with guests while they are waiting, being seated, or leaving.
THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB ARE:
- Compliance with a sequence of customer service standards to positively impact the guests' experience
- Ability to assume a pleasant and helpful attitude towards guests and fellow staff members
- Responsible for greeting guests upon arrival and escorting them to tables
- Responsible for scheduling reservation in conjunction with managers and F&B coordinator
- Knowledge and proper use of floor plans including server sections and seat numbers
- Responsible for notifying servers when a table in sat in their section
- Responsible for maintaining even covers between all servers on the floor
- Responsible for updating OpenTable with current table covers
- Responsible for reading BEOS, group resumes, and reservation notes
- Responsible for answering restaurant phone within 3 rings and maintaining pleasant and professional phone etiquette
- Responsible for maintain order and cleanliness at host stand and front of restaurant
- Ensure guest complaints to answered and/or forwards to the manager on duty
- Knowledge of menu, wine list, concierge program, and current promotions for the restaurant and hotel
- Complete food and beverage knowledge and be able to communicate in detail to guests
- Comply with the Company's standards of conduct

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Knowledge of the entire hotel food & safety compliance procedures, hotel safety procedures to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
California Food Handlers / ServSafe Certification - Required
State approved Certification Alcohol management - Required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to solve problems quickly.
- Basic computer and phone skills.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCED REQUIRED:
Minimum 6-months of restaurant experience required; hospitality experience preferred.
