Compensation: $17.25 per hour

Description

Marriott San Diego Gaslamp is seeking an experienced bartender to join their team!

This is a part time position that pays $17.25 per hour.

Candidates must have open flexibility to work from generally 4:30pm to 2am and must be available to work weekends and holidays. Should be able to start work at 1pm for special events. Amount of shifts will vary depending on business needs.

JOB DUTIES:

Greet the guests, take beverage orders

Follow all brand standards set forth by Marriott Brand Standards

Follow standard operating procedures for bartenders

Answer restaurant calls as needed

Upsell beverage

Mix and serve wine, beer and cocktails

Ensure bar areas are fully stocked

Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, dusting, putting away glassware, and other general cleaning tasks

Responsible for receiving all payments and proper cash, CC and Room Charge procedures

Perform necessary opening/closing and side work duties

Prepare food items for guests such as dishing up oatmeal, soup, making toast, dinner salads, bread, etc.

Ensure all equipment is in operational order and all supplies are up to par. Report equipment that needs repair or supplies that need to be ordered

Be familiar with the operating procedures of all other areas of the hotel, cooperating fully and in a friendly manner with those areas to assure customer satisfaction

Be a Team Player and encourage the teamwork attitude among staff

Attend department and inter-departmental meetings

Notify management of any pertinent information related to shift activities

Be knowledgeable in all hotel emergency procedures

Ensure areas are free of safety hazards and performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner

Ensure total guest satisfaction

Follow supervisor's instructions and perform other duties as directed or assigned

Be knowledgeable regarding hotel activities including groups in house and VIP guests

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

At least 1 year customer service experience preferred

Prior experience as a bartender required, preferably in a fast-paced environment

Micros systems knowledge a plus

Must be able to pass drug screening and background check
