We are looking for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the Chef de Cuisine in leading the kitchen of our 180-seat upscale kosher restaurant. Our menu features premium steaks, fish, chicken, lamb, Middle Eastern-style dips, and fresh bread baked in an electric taboon/pizza oven. The venue includes a full bar, two private dining rooms, and a fully enclosed, climate-controlled pergola garden.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Chef de Cuisine in daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, stepping in as acting head chef when needed.
Maintain compliance with kosher dietary laws and uphold a kosher-certified kitchen environment.
Oversee food prep, line execution, and plating to meet fine dining standards.
Help manage kitchen inventory, food costs, and minimize waste.
Support communication between kitchen and front-of-house to ensure exceptional guest experience.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience in a fine dining or high-volume kitchen, preferably in a supervisory role.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Kosher kitchen experience is a plus but not requiredtraining will be provided.
Willingness to work evenings, holidays, and extended shifts. (Note: weekends are typically off in kosher dining.)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
