Summary :

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Cook 2 at the Summit Restaurant located at the Summit at Snowbird. As a crucial member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing food to the highest standards by following standard operation procedures and recipes set by the Executive Chef. Ensuring that food is fresh, presentable and interacting with customers in our open kitchen. Maintaining the highest level of sanitation , cleanliness , organization , prep levels, and product quality of your station. This position is at 11,000ft at the top of the Snowbird Tram and can present unique challenges .

Responsibilities:

• Prep station to levels and standards a s is set by Executive Chef and in accordance with restaurant guid e lines .

• Own station : anticipate its needs , keep organized, keep fresh , work with a sense of urgency.

• Assist in creation of Daily Chefs Corner special dish.

• Follow sanitation policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

• Assist in preparation and execution of after-hours catered event s. Buffets, plate ups and stations.

• Dispose of trash, recycling, broken glassware and fryer oil in accordance with restaurant guidelines.

• Break down and clean front line and kitchen in accordance with restaurant guidelines daily in a timely manner .

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role preferred .

• State of Utah Food Handler's Permit.

• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as well as give direction to prep cooks , as needed .

• Attention to detail and conscientiousness regarding hygiene and cleanliness.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 30 pounds) and withstand long hours on your feet.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Flexibility to work around road closures, interlodges , tram closures , and other unforeseen obstacles that come with working at 11000ft.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary, on occasional times of road closures.
• May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
• Must be able to lift 25+ lbs.
• Must be able to carry trays and other items needed for service.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
• Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
