Job Specific Duties

  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.

  • Ensure all items are properly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas , including floors, work surfaces, walls, and garbage disposals.

  • Organize and restock clean dishes and kitchen equipment in designated areas.

  • Assist with basic food prep or kitchen tasks when needed, such as peeling vegetables or unloading deliveries.

  • Take out trash and recycling regularly and ensure waste areas are clean and organized.

  • Monitor dish machine detergent and sanitizer levels and report any equipment malfunctions to management.

  • Customer Service: Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure smooth operations and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with special projects, events, and additional tasks as needed to support the overall operations and goals of the hospital café and broader hospital community.

What you will need

  • Previous Dishwasher experience is preferred but we will train you to do the job
  • Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor, work well with customers as well as associates.
  • Follow café guidelines concerning guest services, food, and physical safety, maintenance, and equipment/space cleaning requirements at all times.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in finance or hospitality is a plus.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a diverse team.
