Join the opening team of the first JW Marriott in Virginia! The hotel features 247 rooms spread across 12 floors, setting a new standard for luxury accommodations in the DMV area. With the largest luxury meeting space in Northern Virginia, totaling 35,000 sq ft, it includes two ballrooms with 20-foot ceilings and plenty of natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows and a large skylight. The JW Residences occupy the remaining 16 floors. - Cook breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner offerings according to rotating menus and standardized recipes.
- Prepare hot entrees, sides, soups, salads, and grab-and-go options to support a well-rounded associate dining experience.
- Taste and inspect food before service to ensure quality, consistency, and proper portioning.
- Follow established presentation standards, even in a non-guest-facing setting.
- Keep kitchen, serving line, prep stations, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the shift.
- Follow food safety guidelines in compliance with local health codes and brand standards (e.g., proper handwashing, food storage, and temperature controls).
- Set up and maintain the associate cafeteria line throughout service periods.
- Refill and rotate food items during meal periods to ensure freshness and availability.
- Assist with receiving, labeling, and storing deliveries.
- Practice FIFO (first-in, first-out) and alert the Sous Chef or Cafeteria Supervisor of low stock or spoilage concerns.
- Work closely with other cooks, stewards, and supervisors to support smooth service.
- Assist with prep or cleanup in other kitchen areas when needed.
- Provide input on cafeteria menu planning based on associate feedback and food usage trends.
- Help develop rotating meal offerings that reflect variety, nutrition, and morale-boosting options.
