A BAKED JOINT is a family bakery & cafe in the heart of DC established in 2015. Our focus is high quality, naturally leavened handcrafted breads as well as a variety of laminated dough pastries. We are proud to have been named Best Bakery by The Washington Post!
A Baked Joint is launching a new donut program focused on small-batch brioche yeast donuts made with intention and care. We're looking for a Specialty Donut Baker to join our team
Key Responsibilities:
- Mix, shape, proof, and fry brioche yeast donuts daily.
- Follow and troubleshoot in-house recipes, adjusting fermentation times and methods as needed.
- Collaborate on weekly production numbers and planning.
- Assist in the development of seasonal fillings, glazes, and toppings.
- Work with our team to fine-tune and streamline donut production for quality and efficiency.
- Flexibility to assist in other areas of our bread baking department, such as shaping and baking naturally leavened breads.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Minimum one year of professional baking experience with yeasted doughs or enriched doughs like brioche.
- Understands fermentation and is comfortable making real-time adjustments.
- Enjoys problem-solving and developing new ideas in the kitchen.
- Works well independently but values collaboration and team communication.
- Is excited about building something new and growing with it.
This is a full-time (40hr/week) position that requires weekend and early morning (4am) availability.
