Position Summary
Were seeking a Senior Barista with a passion for great coffee, an eye for detail, and a gift for making people feel seen. This role calls for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a proven track record of outstanding customer interaction, and brings creativity and leadership to every shift. As a Senior Barista, youll help set the tone for the cafe, support junior team members, and ensure each guest leaves with a sense of belonging and a beautifully crafted drink in hand.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently prepare high-quality espresso drinks, teas, and seasonal specialties with accuracy and artistry
- Deliver attentive, friendly, and personalized service to all guests, building relationships through every interaction
- Uphold high standards for cleanliness, efficiency, and product presentation throughout the cafe
- Lead by example during service, guiding junior baristas and fostering a supportive, team-centered environment
- Contribute creatively to seasonal menus and drink development, including testing and refining recipes
- Participate in cafe opening/closing procedures and light administrative or inventory tasks
- Help maintain an informed, inclusive environment that supports both customers and colleagues from all backgrounds
Qualifications
- 3+ years of specialty coffee experience, with strong skills in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and drink presentation
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with diverse guests
- Creative mindset with the ability to innovate and contribute ideas to the drink menu and cafe experience
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
- Experience working in high-volume, team-based environments
- Interest in social enterprise or nonprofit work; ability to navigate complex human dynamics with grace and empathy
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Experience working with vulnerable populations or in mission-driven organizations
- Familiarity with trauma-informed or harm reduction practices
- Food Handler Certification
