As our Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the food service operation at Derryfield School, serving lunch to 409 students. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Culinary professional to showcase their skills and contribute to an outstanding dining experience!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in leading cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
• Plan and build menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef
• Successfully complete catering events
• Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the Company marketing and culinary team

Preferred Qualifications:

• A.S. or equivalent experience
• Confirmed dynamic culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
• Catering experience is a plus
• High volume, sophisticated foodservice operations experience is highly desirable
• Institutional and batch cooking experience is helpful
• Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet
• Willingness to participate in client happiness programs/activities
• ServSafe certified is highly desirable
