**Summary:**
Under the direct supervision of the Food & Manager, the Banquet Captain supervises all Banquet functions and employees at Unicoi State Park & Lodge. They oversee and coordinate the set-up, service, and breakdown of all banquet events.

**Responsibilities:**
- Receive room function assignments and address last-minute changes.
- Ensure accurate posting of all functions on sign boards.
- Check in servers, assign stations, and delegate pre-post function side work.
- Supervise the grooming and attire of staff, briefing them appropriately for each function.
- Inspect table settings and cleanliness of function rooms.
- Supervise Servers, ensuring excellent service to guests and overseeing post-function clean-up.
- Ensure proper setting of buffet and food service tables, on-time execution of functions, and staff readiness.
- Acquire accurate guest counts for plating and maintain communication with the Kitchen.

**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Assist in planning larger events, assigning set-up and service responsibilities.
- Conduct Server training and develop backup personnel for the Banquet Captain position.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of catering service equipment.
- Conduct pre-function lineups with Banquet staff and maintain guest satisfaction.
- Attend meetings as necessary, ensure staffing levels, and manage rental equipment.
- Utilize Opera system for event check input and ensure professionalism throughout events.

**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
The Banquet Captain will supervise 20 - 30 employees in the Banquets Department, following organizational policies and legal requirements. Responsibilities include training, work assignment, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.

**Education and Experience:**

- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to written or oral instructions.

**Physical Demands:**
