Janitor

We are looking for a proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented Part-Time Janitor to support the maintenance and cleanliness of public parks in the City of Fontana. This position is essential to ensuring that community spaces remain clean, sanitary, and safe for public use.

As a weekend janitor, you will perform a variety of custodial and groundskeeping duties, including restroom sanitation, trash removal, litter pickup, and light landscaping. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently in an outdoor setting.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to public service, be comfortable working in all weather conditions, and take pride in keeping public spaces welcoming and well-maintained.

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous janitorial, groundskeeping, or maintenance experience a plus

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently

• Strong attention to detail and time management

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, walk, and stand for extended periods

• Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

• Valid drivers license preferred but not required

• Clean and sanitize public restrooms, including replenishing soap, toilet paper, and paper towels

• Empty trash cans and recycling bins throughout park areas

• Pick up litter and debris from walkways, picnic areas, and grounds

• Perform light landscaping duties such as raking leaves and sweeping walkways

• Refill cleaning supplies and report inventory needs to supervisor

• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly

• Follow all safety protocols and sanitation procedures
